Purchase Direct supports car retailers with their Franchise Environmental Standards

Purchase Direct has been appointed by BMW Group UK to provide a one-off energy consumption audit for all BMW Retailers and Authorised Repairers in the UK and Ireland.

Current BMW Retail Standards mean that all BMW retail locations must measure and report on key elements of their carbon footprint. The goal of this standalone piece of work is to drive common understanding in the BMW Retailer network of the annual reporting requirements, as well as helping to deliver greater engagement and understanding of measures to reduce energy consumption via an individual action plan produced by Purchase Direct.

Purchase Direct are one of four recommended Environmental Consultants selected by BMW Group UK back in 2019. As part of this standalone project, Purchase Direct will be carrying out a physical audit for every BMW UK retail site, producing a report on energy consumption key indicators for 2021 and reviewing current consumption to provide a bespoke energy management plan for each site, with recommendations for practical measures and initiatives to reduce consumption and therefore cost.

Anthony Landau, Managing Director of Purchase Direct, commented, “Having provided energy management services to many BMW sites for years, we feel we’re the ideal fit for the project and we’re delighted to have been selected to work with BMW and the Retailers to help them achieve their environmental goals.”

Wayne Berry, Managing Director of Berry Group was an early adopter of the Purchase Direct Energy Management Service and had this to say about the services provided to him following an introduction to Purchase Direct from BMW:  “Their support with BMW Retail Standards and environmental legislation was paramount. The energy management team made regular visits to our growing sites, conducting thorough audits and delivering a 20% reduction in utility consumption. Their proactive approach, weekly energy consumption reporting and regular reviews keeps our staff engaged, well informed, and supported throughout the process.”

Purchase Direct’s Energy Management programme regularly achieves savings of over 20% in cost and carbon emissions.  For further information, please contact us on 01707 299 100 or email info@purchase-direct.co.uk.
