We were delighted to recently donate £3163 to Welwyn Hatfield Women’s Refuge & Support Service, an independent local charity who provide services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence or abuse.
Raising funds for worthy charities and supporting the local community is important to the Directors and employees at Purchase Direct. We hold a charity day twice a year and employees are given the opportunity to nominate a chosen charity or community project to be considered as the beneficiary of all funds raised on the day. Most recently Dawn Johnson, our Key Energy Account Manager, nominated this worthwhile cause.
Purchase Direct staff supported a fun-packed day in the office, with funds being raised by entering the raffle and auction and baking tasty snacks for sale, through to entering various competitions and team events, including our very own version of the popular TV show ‘The Cube’!
Helen, Facilities & Logistical Lead at Welwyn Hatfield Women’s Refuge & Support Services commented, “A huge thank you to all at Purchase Direct for their contribution to such a successful fundraising event. We are delighted that Purchase Direct’s Charity Day managed to raise £3163 which will be put to very good use. We will be using the funds to help refurbish our temporary crisis accommodation for women fleeing domestic violence and abuse, as well as sourcing some new toys and activities for the children to enjoy.”
