£2,244 RAISED FOR THE OUTSIDE PROJECT HOMELESS SHELTER

Purchase Direct recently supported The Outside Project, the UK’s first LGBTIQ+ Crisis/Homeless Shelter and Community Centre, by raising a total of £2,244.52 for the charity.

Twice a year our employees are given the opportunity to propose a chosen charity or community project for the business to support.  Most recently, Procurement Analyst Rob Attfield nominated The Outside Project which has benefited from the funds raised during our ‘Charity Day’ in November.

The project is a crisis night shelter service in response to those within the LGBTIQ+ community who feel endangered, who are homeless or ‘hidden’ homeless and feel that they are on the outside of services due to historical and present prejudice in society and in their homes.

We held a fun-filled day in the office with a ‘Drag or Be Fab’ dress code and staff participated in various games and activities to raise money for the charity.

Campaigns Manager & Support Worker for The Outside Project, Harry Gay, said “We can’t thank Purchase Direct enough; their generous donation has coincided with a particularly difficult time of year for our guests and will be extremely helpful.”
